Raiden was born on January 14,2013. Sorry its taken so long to post our story.
So lets get started!
Around 5 am on Jan 14 (monday) i woke up with what i thought was a stomach ach. I went to the bathroom because i was feeling alot of pressure was only able to pee a little. All i could think was baby must just be laying strange. At this point i am 5 days over due, and the thought that i was going into labor didn't cross my mind! I go back to our bedroom and turn on the tv to wait for the pain to subside so i can get back to sleep. The pain and pressure only got worse, and the thought that i was in labor finally crossed my mind. At our last appointment i was already 3 cm (a strechable 4) and 75% so progress had already been happening, just slowly. I was thinking that my labor was going to take a very long time and that i could wait to wake up the hubby to go to the hospital. Well that thought didn't last long when i was doubled over i was in so much pain. I decided to wake up the hubby because i needed him to help me with my breathing. It was about 5:45 am at this point, and i made "the face" according to the hubby as i said GO START THE CAR! I called the hospital to give them a heads up that we were coming in so that we wouldn't need to wait, and off to the hospital we went!
We made it to the hospital at about 6 am and we were taken right back to labor and delivery. I couldn't walk very well at this poing, but i also refused to us a wheel chair. So slowly but surly i made it back to our room, and they handed me a gown and told me to put it on and the nurse would be in shortly to get the monitors hooked up. The nurses finally came in after what felt like forever and i had a feeling like i needed to pee and they said great we need a sample! While trying to pee all of a sudden my water broke! It felt like a huge water balloon had broken, and i had a little bit of a break from all the pressure. I was so out of it that at the time i hadn't realized that my water had broken, not until i made it over to the bed and i thought about it for a second befor the nurse checked me. I was already at a 5, so they called my dr to come in because i was pregressing quickly. While waiting on the dr to get there the pain had gotten so intense that i asked for a little something to take the edge off. I don't remember what it was but i do remember that it did help a bit so that i could breath through the contractions, whitch at this point didn't really stop they just let up a little in between.
When the dr got there before she checked my said that she was going to call me and have me induced tomorrow, because she thought that baby was getting big and didn't want him to be to big to come naturally. When she checked me i was at 7 cm. It was around 7:45 am at this point (i think). Family started showing up to see how everything was going, and i couldn't really talk. I kinda meditated into myself. I remember witing on my hubbys mom to get there because she was the one that i knew would get both my hubby and i though this. We thought that my hubby would pass out because he isn't so good with pain, but he never did he made it thought the whole process no problem. He was my rock.
While waiting on his mom, his sister showed up. She was my other rock and also the surprise visitor that came up 2 days early who we wanted to come up for the birth but wasnt sure that she would be able to because she lives 8hrs away. The dr came back in about 9 am and i had progressed to a 9! She asked if i could walk to see if we could move baby down just a tiny bit more so that we could push. i couldn't walk, so we decide to use the whirl pool tub to help relax me so that we could start pushing. While in the tub my body started pushing, so i got out and went back to the bed so that we could start pushing and meet baby!
Its now about 10 am and his mom still hadn't gotten to the hospital, but i couldn't wait any longer to push, well my body couldn't. About a half a hour of pushing and his mom walks in!! If you guys only knew the relief that i felt seeing her walk in!
After an hour of pushing the babies heart rate fell to 70bpm and the dr got worried and wanted to put the hyper-dermal scalp heart monitor on the babies head and had me turn onto my left side and i was asked to stop pushing to see if his heart rate would come up or we would need to be rushed to an OR for an emergency C-Section. His heart rate soon came back up and we could continue pushing! It took me a while to get the right push down, but when i did it didn't take long and his head was out, and then very quickly there after baby was here!!
I remember snapping out of my meditative state the second he came out and was put onto my chest! He did poop in the womb so they did c-pap him right away to clear out his lungs. I was able to cut the cord and that was an amazing experiance. The hubby was to freaked out or something to im not sure, but its something that i will never forget!
