This morning when I woke up, I had some pain in my ovary but nothing too bad and eventually, it went away. Then, I laid down with my son earlier and it started up again and has been tender ever since.

I thought about calling my doctor this AM but then decided against it and now I wish I had called. It's not too bad but it freaks me out.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, absolutely. It's totally fine. You have a cyst on your ovary, left from where your egg punched through. It's called the corpus luteum, and provides progesterone to your body during your pregnancy. It can be tender, even painful, but is perfectly fine.

I specifically remember this with both of my other pregnancies, too and I freaked out each time. I swear, it doesn't matter how many times you go through this, it always feels so new and foreign.

I agree with this, although I have never actually felt ovary pain - not even ovulation lol
