My doctor told me that after seeing a strong heartbeat on ultrasound this week that my risk of miscarriage is now less than 10%...he told me the pregnancy is looking good...my original risk of miscarriage was 35% because of my age 41 yrs old. So this makes me feel better but I still have 4 weeks to go til 12 weeks..

That makes me feel a lot better personally. Thank you for sharing. I'm 40 and this is my first pregnancy and we pretty much haven't told anyone yet. I go for my first appointment on the 12th, I'll be just over 7 weeks so should hear a heartbeat. I just want everything to go well. It took us a long time to get pregnant. Other issues and I wasn't ovulating. I've never been pregnant so never had a miscarriage but reading about peoples experience here is a bit daunting. People with 10+ miscarriages, so many times pregnant. All I do now is worry about what might happen.

I am healthy, pretty fit and in good shape and eat very healthy. I'm really just hoping everything goes well.

Thanks everyone...Halyanne iam glad to know there are other ladies here 40 and older.....I found the 35 percent chance of miscarriage scary all though I have had 6 previous pregnancies and I did loss one not to miscarriage but ectopic pregnancy...so I have done 5 out of 6 times with a good outcome so I try to focus on that....I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly....good luck to you..
