My husband and I are waiting until after our first appointment at almost 8 weeks (Feb. 8) to tell our families our big news so we can get confirmation and hopefully an u/s picture! This is our first, and this will be the first grandbaby for my parents (second for his). Noone knows we were even trying, so it will be a complete surprise for everyone!!
We want to do something fun and creative to announce our big news to our families. Any cool ideas? How did you announce your pregnancy to your family???
We didn't do anything really special lol. I called our folks and a few sensitive siblings who might otherwise get hurt feelings, but everyone else found out through FB. We posted the picture that is in my siggy

Say top 5 times. Say mop 5 times. Say lop 5 times. What do you do at a green light? (They are supposed to say STOP)
Say silk 5 times. Say dilk 5 times. Say zilk 5 times. What does a cow drink? (They are supposed to say MILK)
Say most 5 times. Say host 5 times. Say roast 5 times. What do you put in a toaster? (They are supposed to say TOAST)
Say tregnant 5 times. Say cregnant 5 times. Say bregnant 5 times. What is Shelley? (They are supposed to say PREGNANT!)
It took my mom a minute but my grandma got it right away. Some of the words are made up, obviously. It was a lot of fun.
We told DH's family by playing MadGab and when DH was reading them off, he said "Babe Aye Numb Her Tree His Own They Way" It took a few times but it was hilarious when they got it. My MIL says "Wait, something is going on here. What's going on?" And my BIL's GF goes "Oh, is Shelley pregnant?"
We've only told my inlaws, and they were surprised and excited. Both my parents are gone. Since I am in a high risk pregnancy, we aren't telling anyone else till I'm at least 12 weeks. As for how, I'll call close family and tell them and then do a post on facebook for everyone else
My idea was to give a framed sonogram pic also. I thought we could tell them its a little valentines day gift! My hubby on the other hand said that's not creative enough. His idea was to put a tshirt on our dog that said big brother or sister! Or we can walk in wearing tshirts with just the due date and make them guess!
