I've been super busy. We got some really exciting news about baby!

It's a girl!!!!!!

So I'm officially introducing you to Emerson Presley P_______

She seems very shy lol! She was very still during the 20 minute ultrasound and kept covering her little face. But we saw hands, feet, fingers, toes, her face, etc.

I haven't caught up on posts bc I've been busy out buying girl clothes and baby dolls (yes, I had to go get her first little baby dolls, a mini cabbage patch doll and a mini carebear). I went a little nuts but I'm so excited.

And then I was looking at bedding. And I just hate all the girly pink frilly stuff.

So I'm doing a completely (well almost) nursery, as far as decor. I'm hand making as much as I can and I've made a pretty good start. It's very vintagey, with pale yellow, cream, and gray. Way more my taste than what you can find in the store. Here's what I've done so far...

Baby comforter, you can see the unfinished edge there, it's actually finished now.

Better picture of the pattern.

Here's a pillow I made to go in a chair (the chair has to be reupholstered) and a rocking horse. I bought it unpainted at Joann's or ac Moore and painted it and added the flowers and button eyes

Lamp shade and nightlight. I bought them plain white (it's meant for doing it yourself) at Joann's and I covered them with fabric and the trim

Step stool. It was a plain wooden stool, unpainted and I painted it, added a layer of batting and then covered with fabric to make it just a little padded.

A memory board, it's a cork board covered with batting, then fabric, and added the ribbon and buttons. I stuck the picture in it so you could kind of see what it's intended for

We started painting the nursery at the new house today and we should be moved by April 1st so hopefully I can get it all put together soon! Not like I don't have 24 weeks.... But I'm so excited.

Ok, I'm gonna go catch up on posts now

Most of this stuff was so much easier than it looks like it would be! The craft stores makes it super easy to walk around and just get ideas. The sewing is probably the hardest thing and even that wasn't so bad. I got my machine this past Black Friday and self taught how to use it with manual and online tutorials from crafty blogs.

I'm also working on a tulle crib canopy, a yarn covered wreath, some paper garlands, a mobile, some painted frames, and maybe some more pillows. I love doing stuff like this but it really is easy stuff that almost anyone could do if they found the coordinating fabrics and colors to pull a room together.

I had so many ideas for a boy nursery I don't even get to use now but I'm sooooo excited to have a little girl to do things like this before. I wasn't nearly as crafty when my first two children were tiny

Thank you guys! I'm excited to be able to do the nursery EXACTLY how I want it without being limited to what I can find in stores. And this has been much cheaper/easier than talking DH into expensive baby stuff that I only kind of like anyway.

The rocking horse is my favorite too. If it had been a boy, I'd have done wooden button eyes and a tie but I don't think it would have been quite as cute
