I had my 2nd prenatal apt this past monday. Sorry for the supe delay inthe update, its been a super busy week AND our house got the flu (booo)..but we've recovered.
Anyways, my appointment went well. The baby's heartrate was around 150 and she found it pretty much instantly. I'd only gained 4 lbs since my last apt (which suprised me because i've been eating constantly).
We talked a little bit about the fact that DS was preterm and all the complications I had during labour and delivery. She is thinkign she will refer me to my OB earlier then 28 weeks (in Ontario you see your family doctor untill 28ish weeks thenthey transfer you to an OB) so they can keep a closer eye on any indications of preterm labour started. She is thinking that after the school year is over (i am a teacher) they might put me on modified bed rest as I started contracting regularly at 31 weeks last time.
My dr. is also thinking that becase DS was stuck at 6.5 lbs, they won't let me have a big baby so I will probably be monitored for that as well.
As scary as some of this is, I am glad they are taking my past into consideration when planning my care. DS was 1 sick little boy when he was born.
GLad you had a good appointment. And you are so right, at least they are taking the necessary precautions to make sure you have a safe & healthy pregnancy & baby!
I'm seeing my OB at 18w because of my crohn's disease. This is my first pregnancy, so I don't have any past history to go on. But mommies with crohn's are at risk for a pre-term, low birth weight baby. So I know what it's like to have those things to worry about
And glad you guys are all over the flu too! That has to suck
