She called before my appointment today and I let her know that I wasn't feeling super hot, so she offered to come to me with some feel better tea.
She got here and we chatted and hung out, she made me tea. My uterus is closer to 16 weeks than 14 weeks, but said that's normal as this is #4. Baby's heart rate was in the 150's (I don't remember exactly). My bp was normal. I haven't gained or lost any weight. All good things.
I did have ketones (but no sugar, so diabetes isn't the issue) in my urine, meaning my body is breaking down stored fats for energy, meaning between breastfeeding and gestating I'm not eating enough. I feel like all I do is eat! Bah! So, I'm going to start paying more attention to how much and what I'm eating... I just feel nauseated so often it's hard to eat more than a little bit at a time...
She sounds great! When I go to the doc office it feels like we are being herded like cattle.

Thank you Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy
I am really lucky to have the midwife I do. She's wonderful. She only takes a limited number of clients a month so that she can give them her full care and attention. After she left my house, she went to another client who was having tummy troubles to bring her some natural remedies.
She was my midwife with my last pregnancy and it would take a major medical problem to get me to go back to ob/gyn or hospital care after how wonderfully she treated me. My last birth went really well too and she was with me for the whole thing. She also stays on as labor support if for some reason you have to transfer to OB care or the hospital. <3
ETA: I really really wish every woman was getting this kind of personal, loving, and competent care from their providers. Whether they are seeing an OB or CNM or CPM or Lay Midwife. Every woman deserves it and it makes SUCH a difference.
Glad you had a great appointment!! Now, go make a sandwich!

Awww, that's great.
I just love the kind of care I get from my midwife, she always takes her time to answer all of my questions, and usually stays for over an hour, sometimes just chatting about things that aren't even pregnancy related.
She even comes to visit sometimes when I'm not pregnant, and I don't doubt that every client, past and present, gets the same sort of excellent care.
