I had my NT scan this afternoon. They explained abt screening etc. Then explained that Sequenom, the company that does the MaterniT21 isn't accepting tests unless we fall under some kind of higher risk They did say Harmony accepted low risk women, BUT it has not really been tested for accuracy on low risk. Still they do it if I insisted, but they would recommend waiting for the part 1 results of the sequential screening at the least. I agreed & they proceeded with the NTscan and the blood draw.

Well, the crown to rump length was ~ 7.5 cm and it put me a little over 13 weeks, which would be on-target. The Nuchal translucency was 2.5 mm The baby was moving a lot arching the back, eating fingers etc and she had a hard time measuring and she settled at that measurement. I am definitely a bit worried that its at the higher end of normal

And then she tried the nub shot And she guessed

I'll be honest and say I do have some gender disappointment. This was my last chance to get a little baby boy. But God has his plans and I am sure its going to be amazing with two little girlies running around

Here are the pics:

Here is the alien skull shot:

And finally the nub shot

I'm useless with nub shots so I can't contradict the tech's guess but I'm glad that everything seems to be looking good! You got some great shots!

You got great shots!! And don't worry about being at the higher end of normal....it's still normal range They guessed Savannah correctly as a girl at 12w5d but said don't run out and paint nursery pink yet, so you might still get a surprise at next appt.

What beautiful pics!!! I'm so glad that everything went well, and who knows - the gender guess is only a guess at the moment.

Aww! Cute little thing! Don't worry about the measurement. You are in the normal range, so you are good. Trust me... Two girls is a fabulous set-up.

Aww thank you so much girls!! I wasn't prepared for her to tell me the gender...I mean I did ask, but I had been sure they'd say no! So it really took me aback. I am definitely warming up to the idea of two little girls (thank you Victory ) I am just hoping the screening comes back normal. They said the results will be in, in abt a week. Will keep you guys posted.

looks girly to me!! my nt measurement was also 2.5mm on avg and i went home and freaked out. i read a few things...1, that some dr's consider 2.5-3.0mm normal and 2, that its only really helpful when combined with the blood test. so i'm trying to relax. i think i totally scared my husband though.

I am so glad your scan went well and I agree, being at the high end of normal is still within the normal range, so try not to worry!

You got some great pictures! I, too, suck at nub shots so I don't have any input but I definitely wouldn't go buying pink or anything until you have the gender confirmed. Maybe you'll get a little surprise between the legs.
