Sorry, I have no where else to put this. So it's going in here.

Holidays are relatively stressful for us and more often than not, they involve multiple plans with multiple people. So don't tell me to bring my whole family to your house Sunday at 3 for a WEEK and then tell me you're changing the time to 4 at 2pm. I'm sorry you're not ready for us to come over. But guess what? I don't care. That's your problem, not mine. And maybe you should have planned your day a little better.

I mean seriously, what am I supposed to do for an hour? With 4 kids? Hang out in the parking lot. My **** is already packed in the car. My parents planned for us to leave their house at 2:45. So they have plans. I can't just drive around Galveston until you're ready. You're just going to have to get over it.

OR I can do what I WANT to do and just go the **** home and take a ******* nap. Ive been up since 6 am. I've done 6 loads of laundry. Breakfast with my parents, church, lunch with my husband, an Easter egg hunt and still had time to catch and fillet 6 catfish. All before 1:30. So I'm sorry if you don't have time to put a ******* roast on the stove and turn the burner setting to "on."

I'm normally a laid back, go-with-the-flow type of person, but this situation you are describing would p*ss me off royally. I don't understand this because if I was hosting, I would not change the time last minute, I'd invite you in and apologize for not having my stuff in order. And of course being a busy mom, you'd understand, so exactly what is the problem?

*sigh*

I'm having a sh*tty day for different reasons. Let's hope the rest of the day improves for us both.

holidays here are all about the kids and dh family. DH family is loud, I mean loud, noncaring of mess, mess makers and ugh. I hate mess. They don't understand my anxiey and ocd and they laugh at me and rearrange furniture and it pisses me off, so I don't invite them. THEY invite themselves. My dh is asking right now if I invited anybody over for dinner, I said uhhh no I forgot lol I didn't BUT I don't want to have to entertain people, with 7 kids and being pregnant. No one invites us over, so why should I always be the one. As for your time being changed, they shouldn't tell you to go an hour later, why the big deal on an hour for them, seriously? Holidays suck. Did you tell them off? Christmas is the worse here. Oh and to think I have a first birthday coming up, ugh.

That would be SO frustrating. Having carted around several kids (and been one of several kids carted around) on a holiday (read: everyone's excited and sometimes hopped up on sugar) that would be a freakin' nightmare. I hope your day got a little better and you got some rest.

I would have been ticked too. Our days are always packed during the holidays. A one hour notice would not be cool. I would have said too bad.. I am going to either come now or not all.

This year we actually only did stuff with my Family and not Dh's. It was amazingly simple. Got up, did Easter basekts, ate breakfast went to Mass, got home did some pics, started on dinner. My family got there. Kids played, we ate, did egg hunt and then things got cleaned up and my famiy went home. Then we actually got to chill out andrecover from the day! Seriously thinking that from now on we need to just trade off Holidays. So one year thanksgiving with mine and Christmas with his and the next year its the opposite.

why couldn't they let you come over and just tell you dinner's delayed??? I would be pissed too...and honestly I got exhausted just reading everything you'd already done that day. I hope the dinner was delicious when you finally were able to come over & eat...

Ugh honestly I hate when we have to do holidays with my in laws which is pretty much every holiday but Christmas. Yesterday we were told to be there between 11:30 and noon. FYI we are the only people with children there. So we get there and wait till freaking 1 for DHs worthless aunt who I have only even met a few times (cuz she has a serious drug problem) and when she finally shows up she says that she still needs to make the deviled eggs but the eggs are cooked just not peeled or anything. Ugh so instead of getting to it she starts showing pictures of her kids (in there late 20's) who aren't there because they are freaking IN PRISON! I have never met them cuz they have been locked up since I met DH. I honestly didn't even know he had an aunt until we had been together for 5 years cuz that is when she just seemed to appear! Well thankfully his grandma and me just started to make the eggs to get it over with. In the mean time my 2 year old is throwing herself on the floor yelling "i'm hungry!!". Then his aunt had the nerve to tell me "Well you can tell she is an only child". Listen bia.....it is 1:30...she hasn't eaten anything and it is our nap time! I almost left before we even ate and just said screw it!

We do the whole blended family holiday party parade so I totally understand when someone changes something last minute and it gets messed up! I hate that.
