So I just spoke with the genetic counselor at my peri's office...she was so kind in leaving a vm that said "call me back I have some good news for you" otherwise I'd seriously have freaked out because by the time I called she was in another meeting so I've been sitting here for an hour waiting to talk to her.

The Harmony results came back negative/normal which turns out to be a huge relief because she tells me that they had been sitting on my initial seq screen results not wanting to panic me because those actually came back flagged as high risk. Now we were expecting a high risk designation based on age alone (I think they flag anything less than 1:350, by age my risk is like 1:120) which is why peri wanted to run Harmony at same time...BUT it turns out one of the proteins did show as elevated, which combined with my age (and despite a great NT measurement of 1.2) put the initial seq screen result at 1:20 which def would have freaked me out a bit had they told me. So they didn't and I think I love them for that.

Based on the Harmony result coming back ok (98% accuracy) and a good NT measurement she didn't think my peri would recommend doing an amnio, which is just fine with me that was precisely what I was hoping to avoid

Having our last pregnancy lost to a Trisomy, I can't really fully express what a relief it is to hear these results are normal....I am thankful beyond words right now.

sorry, perinatologist aka MFM/MFS if your area uses that term more...kind of interchangeable here, just a high risk OB.

Yay so glad you got good results on your Harmony! I really hate the NT and sequential screening....it always seems to give false positives!

I asked and the genetic counselor said that wasn't in the report...now what I don't know is if that's only done if they test for Y chromosome aneuploidy (and she didn't mention results for that, so maybe it was optional with Harmony and they didn't run it?) or if it's in the full report but she's just not allowed to share for whatever reason and we'll find out at next appt. Our next scan is next Monday and i'll be almost 16 weeks, so assuming baby cooperates we hope to find out then!

Good news for you

With harmony they don't check gender, with MaterniT21 and Verifi they do check
that. I only know cus I got the Harmony test done and asked if I would find out gender and I was told no
