So here is my predicament. My mom is here until Tues, 9 April. She lives in Washington State and only comes once a year to year and a half. She is DYING to know the gender of this baby. The elective 3D/4D place says you have to be 16 weeks. I was thinking of making an appt for next Monday (I will be exactly 15 weeks according to dating scan, and 15w5d according to LMP) and saying I'm 16 weeks just for a chance to find out gender. Is that really bad? WWYD? I would love for my mom to be there, and see the baby and find out with me, but I would feel bad for lying to get the appt.

***Update*** So last night I submitted an appt request on their website. They wrote back today and said they had a Sunday appt or a Monday 5:30pm appt.,My mom leaves early Tues, so I wrote back and said "I would like Sunday, but I wont be 16 weeks" and she said it was OK, just to bring in a prior u/s or something from doc office and to drink a TON of water 3 days leading up. Not for the full bladder, but for clear amniotic fluid. She said since I'm early, she couldn't stress water enough!! I am so freakin' excited!!!!

I would totally fib lol! We can't do it here (in TX) cuz you have to have a form signed by your Dr to authorize the ultrasound and it has your EDD on it.

Haha I would totally fib too! But we cant do that here either. We have to submit proof of previous prenatal care that shows how far along you are along with EDD.

We have to do that here too, but I would still try to get over. I'd give them an older ultrasound, then tell them that my due date was bumped up after a dating scan...say what you want, but in these circumstances, I would try that hard!

If it was me, I would tell them the whole truth. You are SO close. They might do it.

You could try this, and hopefully they'd do it. If they refuse, call another place and lie, lie, lie!!!

I would be honest abt it and tell them your circumstances. If they still don't care and won't work with you after hearing the story, then why spend money there? It's just me. You're only one day shy. They should be able to accommodate you. I'm sure it will be fine. Do whatever you think will work out better. You know them better than I do. If they're really empathic and u've had them before, why lie? If ou know them to be really strict and follow their guidelines to the last line, then lie... Use your judgement.

The place I went to says 16 weeks. But my DH has a crazy work schedule and they were all booked except for the Thursday we went, which was 15 weeks 4 days. She knew how far along I was and still let me come in. I made sure and sounded really upset on the phone because of Dh's schedule..

Oh and the place I went to doesn't ask for anything from the doc.. just the doc's name.

Good luck!

But as for me what is a due date? An estimation. Mine was moved 4 days by a bad vanginal ultra sound because baby was too big to get good measurments vaginally and too small to get measurments through my tummy. What makes your doctors estimation better than yours? after all the spinny wheel only takes a 28 day cycle into account in that estimation.

I would tell them the circumstances and see if they will do it anyway because you'll be so close. They very well might.
