between yesterday and the day before, I've gained almost 3 lbs. I've been a little more hungry than usual, but I've been trying hard to ignore it or find something I can eat. I had a BM this am and yesterday, so I guess it's not that. I even worked out yesterday for 20 min on the treadmill (very slow pace)..

For breakfast yesterday, I had a bowl of rice krispies w/ a cut up banana.
Lunch, chili with about 1/2 cup white rice and a side salad, small glass of sweet tea.
Dinner, one slice of costco pepperoni pizza with fresh pineapple and strawberries cut up.

For after dinner snack, I had a bowl of quaker oatmeal squares.

I don't drink coffee, soda... I only drink water other than the tea I had for lunch.

I know I don't eat the BEST, but I don't think that's really excessive for the weight I am gaining. I was still hungry yesterday and even passed up a strawberry yogurt at Costco... I had this problem in my other pregnancies and don't understand why the weight comes so rapidly. I mean... do I have to avoid ALL carbs and any trace of sugar to not gain this excessive weight??? Thoughts???

Please tell me I'm not the ONLY one with this problem right now.. anyone else having alot of weight gain close to 20 weeks? I've gained approx. 8-9 lbs total, but since I started out overweight, I don't want to gain much. The last three pounds was just in the past couple of days.

Weight gain that quick is probably mostly water retention. I wouldn't worry about it too much!

well, when I'm NOT pregnant, I naturally fluctuate 1-2 pounds on any given day. I would imagine the same happens during pregnancy

my guess would be water retention for whatever reason...certain foods do this to me. we had a sauce with soy sauce in it tonight so i am SURE i will be up tomorrow.i don't think its a huge concern at this point. i'd just try to lay off the super salty foods and maybe eat more fruits/veggies. it should even out. i don't worry about big jumps overnight, ever, because they're almost ALWAYS just water.

I've gained a lot too so far, but I figure its fir a good cause. I know I'll lose the weight at some point so I try not to think about it

I agree with the other ladies - I doubt you could gain 3lbs of fat within days - it has to be water...FWIW, I've gained 8lbs so far, but do swell up very easy lately, temporarily gaining 5lbs within days. It seems to happen when I eat too much salt or sugar, so I'm trying to manage that the best I can, but still trying to have some fun with this while I have an excuse to be chunky - normally I have to follow a strict diet in order to keep the weight off because my body just loves to hold on to fat!

Oh well, we'll lose it when we're done.
