I am getting the Harmony Friday but they don't release the gender to you. The way the test work is by running the babies DNA looking for things like XXX syndrome so I don't see how they could be wrong. There is either a Y chromosome or there isn't...

I am still waiting, my MaterniT21 results are next week and my u/s is May 2nd.

I believe that downs babies are born with "soft markers" that involve their genitals. I think that males may have significantly smaller scrotum and issues with undesended testicles at birth which may cause visualization issues on the ultrasound. I would definitely research that if it plays into your question. I agree with Allison the genetic test should be more reliable than the visual test.

my harmony didn't even give the gender, but the amnio did. the genetics dr confirmed saying they found NO Y in there at all, just XX so I am set for a girl.

My MaterniT21 test said girl. I haven't had a gender ultrasound yet. My next u/s is in two weeks, so they'll probably confirm it then.

From what I understand, these tests are pretty definitive with gender. In the case of MaterniT21 there have only been like 2 cases total where they thought girl and it was a boy. I think it was concluded that the tests were faulty.

BUT I'm still not buying anything girly until my anatomy scan!!!!
