So, I noticed that a lot of people are doing the co-ed baby shower thing lately. I'm not particularly traditional, so I asked DH if he wanted to come (and invite his friends) or not.

He looked genuinely aghast that I would offer. So I tried to explain I was just trying to include him and he doesn't *have* to go if he doesn't want to.

Apparently, he's always been under the impression that "baby showers are like bachelor parties, right? Like...with strippers? All that baby shower games stuff is just for show, and then the real party starts".

I thought he was kidding. He wasn't.

I told him he caught me. Still, he was invited to have virgin Jello "shots" and take body shots of sparkling cider off the impossibly perfect abs of a "fireman".

He declined.

I guess I should tell him the truth eventually, right?

What life must have been like growing up with no female relatives in your generation.

Haha.. if only!

My DH wanted to go at first.. then he changed his mind. I think once he realized people would be staring at him he lost interest. Lol.

Haha! That's funny.

My cousin had a coed shower and if you stayed late they hired a female stripper for the men that came. I think you ha to bring diapers if you wanted to watch the show.
Yikes!
We didn't stay.

Strippers are not a part of a good marriage lol

lmbo! My hubby is the biggest child ever and surprisingly enough he was against the thought of coming to the baby shower, and I thought by telling him he could open presents it would make him want to come but no...not even telling him there would be cake. He can't stand the thought of being around 50 women, and JUST him. I told him other guys would be there but honestly I doubt any of my friend's boyfriends or husbands will want to come.

We don't really have traditional baby showers so both male and females come. I doubt we will have one this time though. . Why not just have a cookout or something? Do u think he and his friends would wanna come then?

Men crack me up

Our invitations read like so:

"You're invited to a baby shower/vasectomy party!"

Not even kidding. I know a couple who did two parties at the same time. One upstairs and one downstairs in their house. Upstairs was the baby shower, downstairs was a diapers and beer party. Everyone had a blast.

LOL! That's so funny!

Ours is going to be traditional in that only females guest will be invited. BUT, hubs and probably my dad will attend. We did that with the wedding shower too. It was nice- they're his presents too! Plus we got lots of nce pictures.
