How far is your hospital or birth center? If you are having a homebirth, how far away is your midwife from your home?

It is a little under 20 miles from our house to the hospital. Luckily most of the distance is highway so we can be going close to 60 mph, its a straight shot with no bad roads, no train tracks or otherwise bumpy areas.

abt 25 - 30 mins max. Including time to park and walk to the entrance if I need to I am seriously planning to do this...I dont want to get admitted before its really necessary and risk getting strapped down to the bed. So I am planning on going to the hospital when the contractions get really close and I can still stand the pain and then stay in the parking lot or hang out in the hospital lobby but not go through registration and to L&D wonder if they would let me do that LOL.

We're between 30 and 45 minutes from the birth center, depending on traffic. We were closer before we moved, but we can drive on a limited access road now compared to the largely backroads-y way we took before so it ends up being about the same amount of time anyway.

Ehh.... Mine is complicated.
My midwife is located at two offices, the farthest is 30 minutes away.

If I was to be transported to a hospital for any reason, the closest one is 10-15minutes away, depending on traffic. The one hospital I would chose to go to, if for some reason I became ineligible for a homebirth, is 60 minutes away.

Then there is another hospital that is in the next state over, but is only 30 minutes away. And the only reason I would prefer that one over the others is they are working with another hospital that has a NICU in it, and would be able to fly us over via helicopter if need be.

(the one that is 10-15min away does not have a nicu, and would not fly us, but drive us via ambulance to a hospital with a nicu that is 90 minutes away)

...something I will be discussing with MW next week.

The hospital is 30-40 mins away but since we are doing a planned c section it shouldn't be an issue. If I do go into labor or anything early there is a hospital 5 mins from the house. The one I plan to deliver at has a NICU & is really good with complications & odd patients like me. Thankfully I have seen an OB here at the close hospital also, so should I need to go there for anything urgent, they are aware of me.

It's about 25 miles to the hospital from here, mostly interstate highway. If i go into labor on my own I'm not sure i will wait very long to head to the hospital as my labors are FAST and I don't want to have a baby on the road and this hospital is very open to moms being mobile and they even have jetted tubs for laboring moms to use.

I live about 5 minutes away from the hospital I picked. Which is further than the 3 minutes away from the other hospital, but I picked the better one.

My OB's office is also directly across the street from where I will deliver. Guess those are the perks to living in the centre of a bustling city!

hospital is 10 minutes away, about 3 miles.

if need be there is another hospital 3 blocks from my house. My OB doesn't deliver there but if baby was coming fast i could go there.

There are 2 hospitals within a 10-15 mins drive, however, my dr only delivers at a hospital that's about 30 mins away (because of their NICU). Luckily, there are 2 ways of getting there and traffic is never really that terrible until after the hospital exit.

It takes us about 25 minutes to get to mine! Maybe 35 if traffic is heavy. If everything is going well we are hoping to labor at home as long as possible to help avoid hospital interventions, so I'm glad it isn't super far away...

We're about 20 miles away but due to Los Angeles traffic it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to almost 2 hours. Lets just hope I don't go into labor at 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Because then I'm totally screwed!

Thankful I can wait till the last minute to head to the hospital and I can just run up to the dr office to get checked if I think I'm in labor!
