Wednesday is the full moon, and a blue moon! How many mommy's do you think will go into labor within the next three days? Me & hubby were both born on full moons, and I will be 38 weeks on Wednesday, I'm hoping my water breaks! I would actually be upset if my water didnt break within the next three days because I have been working myself up about it, even though it is not scientifically proven I truly believe the moon has an effect on our bodies!

LOL, you are funny. Don't get your hopes up TOO much. Time drags at this stage of the game as it is. I think there may be something to the moon thing, too, but artificial lighting messes us up some. There are studies that show that women who have a hard time ovulating sometimes respond well to getting rid of night lighting in their bedrooms. Interesting stuff.

My midwife was actually just talking to dh and I about this last week - about not only lunar cycles but atmospheric pressure and weather and how they correlate with labor. It came up because we had a big thunderstorm last week that washed out one of the major roads going into the birth center (we ended up having to reschedule our appointment because it took us so long to get there). She was saying that she was over an hour late getting there that day too, and she was nervous that someone would be laboring and need her there because of the weather.

I guess her daughter put a research paper together where she went back through my mw's clients over a couple of years and when they started laboring/when their babies were born and compared it to lunar cycles and weather at the time, and she did see a noticeable correlation between them. Interesting stuff! Maybe something will be moving for someone around here on Wednesday - we shall see.

Hope it happens for you, but it better not be me! LOL. I will only be 35 and 5 on Wednesday, so he better keep baking at least another 2 weeks. AT LEAST. I'm getting super uncomfy, but I'm still hoping he waits til his due date or even slightly later... I'm hoping to be on leave through Christmas! lol

Back to add that I also believe lunar cycles have an effect on our bodies- I just hope mine isn't effected until the NEXT one.

I have been opening the windows to get more natural light in. Even if i don't go into labor I only have less than 2 weeks left until my due date so ill be okay, haha, but would not be opposed to meeting her now.

It better not do anything for me! LOL

The average gestation of a first time mom who goes into labor naturally (not induced) is 41 weeks 1 day. :/ Every person is different, though, and I certainly wouldn't wish being overdue on anyone, so hopefully it isn't the case for you!

I definitely want to go into natural labor, so hopefully she comes soon, because my OB wont let me go over my EDD.

Why wont your doc let you go over your EDD? That seems odd to me.
I was born at 38 weeks and DH was born at 43. I'm hoping mine decides to take the average

Idk why, thats just what he said. & my doctor is known to induce a lot, every OB is different.. I wouldn't want to go over my due date so im fine with it.
