I asked my ultrasound tech about this. She told me that as far as she knows, that particular method can only be accurately used during the 6 week dating ultrasound (or within a week or two after). So for me they were unable to predict anything.
I'm guessing my placenta is on my left because I always find the heartbeat about a half inch to the right of my belly button if I'm looking down. I'm having a boy. Does that fit with the old wives tale?
I am not sure since I won't have another scan until 20 weeks but at my last scan all they told me was that I had an anterior placenta which I had last time with #3 an that was a girl. So I guess we'll see
