I will probably do a reveal to the private forum after my cake party this weekend (when the family learns the result) but since I want to do surprise reveals to various people throughout the pregnancy, it can't go on the main board anywhere until the baby's out.
Here's hoping I don't slip up! Heh.
Anyway, the US went awesomely. The little critter's everything looks sound. My placenta is stuck to the back wall of my uterus so my VBAC options are still open. Some of the dimensions (femur, head, abdomen) are a measuring a little far ahead (up to one week) but still within the margin of error of the measurement tool, so no concerns there. All of my blood work so far looks stellar, and the heart is perfect and strong. We're definitely feeling optimistic!
Yesterday I went out and did some Highland Athletics (there was a game event in ABQ which is where my family lives and I'm staying with them for a little bit). I was afraid of how it would go with me being 20w1d pregnant and just told myself I'd have to take it easy. The answer was that I'm just throwing at about 50-75% of my normal capacity - I guess that's okay. Everything felt good. I didn't sustain any injuries or anything, so I'll settle for that. I did, however, get a personal record with a perfect caber throw, which won me the gold for that event, in my class. Here's a link to the video if anyone wants to see it. I was feeling pretty proud, and I have a little medallion I can give my baby.
Lately things have been feeling a lot more real - especially now that we know what we're having and are working on a name (we might have one already). Baby has been bumping into my bladder a lot and having periods of pretty vigorous activity. I feel like I'm getting to know this person instead of having some anonymous entity quietly occupying my abdomen. It's... pretty awesome.
Sounds great! Glad your appointment went well! I want to do a cake gender reveal party with the next baby This one we kept a total secret til we found out the sex so that was the big gender reveal/baby reveal all at once haha. I love how I'm already planning the next one LOL. Congrats again!
