I had my shower yesterday and it was so much fun! It was nice to have my mom come visit for the weekend too, since the shower was at my house. We got lots of great clothes, books, and toys. Now I can go nuts shopping over the few remaining items I need.
I am SO sore today though and have done absolutely nothing. The dishes are still piled in the sink and I'm still in my pjs. I really wish I had worn my belly support band yesterday!
I'll post pictures when my mom sends them.
We did a surprise name reveal at the shower and it went over so well! Everyone loves the name and is really happy to know it now.
So without further ado... we are naming our son:
Douglas Gianmichele P.
Douglas, after our favorite author Douglas Adams
Gianmichele is Italian for John Michael, and is a combination of DH's dad's name and my dad's name. DH's dad's name is Giampierro and my dad's name is Michael. They were both very touched by the honor.

Yay! Congrats on a fun shower and a lovely name choice. I think that it's sweet to pass down a grandparent's name to a little one. I gave my daughter her great grandmother's (who, btw, is still with us at 75 years young) name as a middle name, and it's just got that extra helping of specialness, you know?
Ahh it's all getting so real. I can't wait to start putting faces with these chosen names - especially my own.
what a fun name! My nickname in high school was Douglass, I know it's weird to have that as a nickname when your real name is Samantha but we were weird that's all I can say...lol.
Congrats on a great shower!
