The results from my 24 hour urine weren't bad, they said. They mentioned +1. She can't induce me on Monday, and Tuesday my MIL has to appear in court(I think it's something about a traffic incident she was in a month ago). So we needed to try for later in the week. My OB is going out of town then. =P So they are going to try for the following Monday or Tuesday with orders to take it easy, drink water, and lay off anything salty.
I would go with the backup OB if I never had a man to give me a husband stitch, but now I don't trust male doctors around my genitals. Female doctors are less likely to feel sorry for the man. lol But I might as well wait if I go that long! I'll be a few days shy of 40 weeks. Unless I go sooner. Kind of disappointed, kind of excited that I may just have a surprise day.
My OB likes to start inductions at night which is different. I'd go in at 10 PM, sleep through the first stage maybe. I have had evening babies before so morning baby would be different. I'd get to enjoy her all day before I needed to sleep again.
I'm seriously thinking about waiting. If I have to be miserable that long, what's a few more days? And if I am 2 weeks late, I can get an October 13th baby that will sometimes have a birthday party on Friday the 13th. lol
Still want that sapphire birthstone, too. Ugh!
A friend told me to try paregoric because an aunt of hers used that to go into labor every time decades ago. I looked it up, and it's some type of opiate! lol Think I'll be passing on that, but if opium does it, maybe I should make something with poppy seeds. Lots of poppy seeds. Supper will be lemon poppy seed bread.
I wonder if they do inductions needing cervical ripening at night. When I was induced I didn't need any cervadil or cytotec and they had me come in the morning. Glad your protein spilling isn't too severe, might be nice to have it be a surprise
YOu totally got this!
don't know why your OB does night inductions but I do know that most people's bodies respond better to Pitocin at night, (something about the moon, and relaxation and the fact that your body is more likely to think of the Pitocin as its natural sister Oxytocin) My midwife encouraged me to start pit at night because she said in her experience it always worked better that way...
though Im not sure what induction method your doctor uses.
I've only had pitocin, and I honestly didn't even know about the cervix thing until people on here talked about it. lol I automatically assumed pit drip. Interesting about night helping it along. I hope it helps me go faster if that's the way I end up going. A few days ago I wanted to just wait for nature, but these past couple days with this constant nausea coming back is making me reconsider.
