What do you eat for lunch at work?

I was a sandwich/lunch meat addict and now that's not really an option.

Since right now its just my fiance and I, I typically just cook 2 portions worth for dinner. Latley I have been cooking just a little extra so I can bring leftovers with me for lunch. Today its chicken and rice with carrot and peas....and lots of hotsauce!

Why can't you have a sandwich? I used to eat a lot of them when pregnant. If you want to be cautious, just nuke your meat for a minute.

Ive been wondering about this too, as I heard that lunch meat has to be microwaved. I really dont think that hot lunch meat sounds very good at all. Do you think I could microwave it, then put it back in the fridge to get cold again, or is that defeating the purpose of microwaving it in the first place?

I think you microwave it to kill the bacteria. I would imagine that putting it back in the fridge in a ziplock bag should be ok as long as no air gets to it.

I usually take left overs for lunch too. Today it's homemade chili and garlic bread from last night.

not lunch at work, but in general I have a hard time eating lunch. Im never hungry for lunch and when I try to tell myself I need to eat nothing sounds good, then I end up feeling yucky.

I don't go into work but for my DH I always make extra at dinner time to pack as leftovers. On the days that we eat out and there is none extra, I might make a salad and he will take in a Lean Cuisine.

The best LC's out there IMO are the spring rolls! They're so good and fun to eat. I like to dip them in greek yogurt (whether it's tzaziki or jalapeno flavored). MMmmm I just finished eating but there you go, now I'm hungry again.

I work at a school. We always have a lunch around and they'll make me a salad if I want.

I nuke lunchmeat. I just toast the bread and nuke the meat and in my head it's a fancy toasted Panini.
MarchMom2007 and Spero like this.
