Hi ladies. I ended up going to the ER last night. They checked my cervix (closed) took betas (2,291) and gave me a transvaginal ultrasound (yolk sack & gestational sack found, no fetal pole. Yolk sack and gestational sack found in uterus) My student was nicer and smarter than the doctor. The doctor actually told me that and yes, I quote, "Women have 28 day cycles. It's 14 days from menstration to ovulation. It only varies by 3-5 days (o day) and there's ALWAYS (yes, he stressed always) 14 days after a woman ovulates until the next menstration. You are 3 and a half weeks pregnant!" Yes, this is what I put up with last night. He gave bean a 50/50 chance. He said one of three things will happen 1) I've partially miscarried and I'll continue to 2) I'll have a healthy pregnancy or 3) I haven't already miscarried but I might. The ultrasound tech did say that according to her findings she's "not seeing enough for 5 weeks but seeing more than she'd expect for 4 weeks."
So, with that mixed reaction, I came home and googled my hcg level, found it's too high and my number is in the 5 week range and this morning I just plain give up. I quit googling. I quit worrying. I'm just going to have to call my ob and get the second blood draw on Monday. This is going to be one long weekend. *sigh* Thanks for listening ladies. I really hope today is a great day for all of yinz :0)

Ugh!! Well yes lay off the google and go see your OB. That ER doc sounds like he should spend less time memorizing.

Crazy enough to try all over again for a second together baby! Hoping for a much less wild ride this time!

Yikes! According to that doctor, I am 6 weeks pregnant, even though I had a negative blood test at what would have been CD21. I am most definitely preggo (says the woman having sardines for breakfast )

I am so sorry that it was such a frustrating time at the ER, but so, so happy for you that your bean is right where he/she is supposed to be. I worry so much about that. Hoping you get great news from your OB. Keep us updated and I will be thinking about you!

What a tool that Dr. is. Hopefully his wife never has an off due date. Definitely wise to lay off Google. Yay for the good stuff, boo waiting. GL!

Um yes stay away from google.

I am thankful to have a doctor that believes in charting and a woman knowing her cycle/body and he listens.

I had my scan this week and they saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac, no fetal pole yet either. But she did say measurements put it at 5 weeks and 3 days.

Thank you ladies! I'll just keep myself super busy so hopefully the time flies. At least the time I have to wait is a lot shorter than the tww

I really appreciate you telling me about your ultrasound, Drewbears. It definitely gives me some hope that not all is lost.

MarchMom2007 I swear every time I read you're eating sardines for breakfast I giggle. It's such a pregnant lady thing to do

I hope you get good news on Monday. That doctor sounds like he needs a refresher course in women's cycles.

They all have their specialties. I had a baby brain doctor to tell me that nothing I ate or drank, no drugs I took, would go through to the breastmilk. Chocolate will not give them diarrhea, spicy foods won't give them reflux, alcohol won't make them drunk, narcotics won't make them sleepy, etc.

But he's a baby brain doctor. All of his brain cells focus on one subject.

As a woman with 5 or 6 weeks cycles, I laugh at that. My first pregnancy it took me a while to convince the doctors that I knew the exact date that I ovulated and was actually 2 weeks less pregnant than they thought.
