Yea or nay? Bicycles, not motorcycles. I was thinking about doing it this weekend but I have reservations about it. I normally bike around my neighborhood on a beach cruiser, but this would be more of a trail. Any bikers out there?

I'm not a biker but I don't see why it would be a problem for you. If you have good balance and all that why not?

As long as you think the bike is stable, and not too fast like in a slope I think it's safe. Here is an article that might help : Cycling During Pregnancy: Yes or No? | Active.com

Well then maybe I will give it a go! My choices were between 15 miles in the everglades (an easy ride, see gators) which is a little long, or a sporadic/shorter ride around south beach (see people, traffic). We'll see how I'm feelin'. They don't know I'm preggo yet either hence the activities suggestions.

I bike throughout my pregnancies. We love it. Never had an issue.

I rode my bike with DS on the back yesterday. Nothing too intense though. What trail did they suggest in the everglades that is 15 miles long? Big Cypress? If you do the everglades one ask them how much of the trail is covered with water. Sometimes they are hard to bike if there has been too much rain.

Thanks, I'll check! I might just veto that one outright because I'm more of a recreational biker, if there is a chance I'll have to go off road like that.

I have many friends that continued to bike while pregnant. Their doctors encouraged it because it was an exercise that they were likely to do.
