Google online, but you can boil it down, sweeten it with honey and make a tea. I have heard that can really help. I just buy the ginger candy though so I haven't actually tried it.

I eat a ton of ginger even when I don't need it, so I can try to give you some tips.

I make tea out of it - boil a few slices, add a tea bag, then sweeten as usual.
I pickle it - cut slices that look like large matchsticks, cover them in salt, put them in a jar, then cover with lemon juice.
I candy it - Here's the recipe: Candied Ginger Recipe : Alton Brown : Recipes : Food Network

I don't know if any of this will be to your taste, but hopefully something here will help.

I normally love ginger but I find it is a little harsh for my stomach during pregnancy, when I also normally get heartburn. I think I will try the tea though.

I candy it with the above recipe. I also make carrot soup with it and it helps!
Life is Good: "Mommy's Pregnant Carrot Soup"
that's my blog post with the recipe.

I also use it in stir fry, and make tea with it as mentioned above. It really helps me. I also suffer from extreme car sickness/motion sickness, so I take my candied ginger with me when I travel. It takes some getting used to the taste, but it really settles my tummy.

I usually grate it and put it in a tea infuser when making tea.

I did forget to add that I cook with it all the time because I make a lot of Indian and Chinese dishes, and never forget gingersnap cookies - you can always use fresh ginger and add more than usual. You can always throw it along with some freshly pressed garlic into any stir fry and it will be great!

I never would have thought that I'd be interested in carrot soup, but I just checked out the recipe and it looks great. Thanks for posting - can't wait to try it!

I put it on my blog because all of my pregnant friends were pestering me for the recipe! It sounds strange, but it is so comforting.

It is a bit labor intensive. I have found that there are some days (sparse, but existent) when I feel really good and am full of energy, so I make a really big batch on one of those days and then freeze it in smaller serving sizes, with the zip loc containers. Then when I'm feeling like crud, I just pop it in the microwave.

I have a ginger essential oil. I just smell it and it helps. My sister lived on ginger coconut tea with her last pregnancy.
