My midwife practice doesn't do U/S's unless there is an issue, or unless I specifically request one and then it will be around 20 weeks. They will try listening for the heart beat at my appointment on 3/11 when I am just shy of 9 weeks. Anyone else only doing Doppler?

My doc would normally only use a doppler to hear the heart beat around 11-12 weeks. I only got an u/s early this time due to previous losses. I never heard or seen the heart rate yet though, so I'm looking forward to my appt in 2 weeks. She's gonna try and listen for it with the doppler!

Yeah, my midwife will only use a doppler. I purposely asked my RE if I could stick with her until the 8 week mark so I could get one ultrasound.

I so hope we hear it on 3/11, but I know it will still be early. I know I heard DS's heartbeat on Doppler prior to 10 weeks though. I can't remember exactly when, but a very significant event happened at 10 weeks and I remember hearing it prior to that.

I see a regular family practitioner (No OB's close by) and he only listens for the heartbeat at every appointment, starting at 12 weeks roughly. I'm hoping he'll try and find the heartbeat next week though. I'll be 10 1/2 weeks. I only have one ultrasound done sometime between 16 and 20 weeks when I travel to see my OB!

My OB doesn't send for early ultrasounds either. He only uses the doppler and you get one u/s at 20ish weeks. This is the main reason why I opt for the NT scan I like to have an u/s before 20 weeks.

I'm seeing a mw and she also only uses a doppler. My OB with #3 never used a doppler and did an u/s at every appt for only like 10secs just to see the heart. It was nice seeing my baby at very appt, but I'm perfectly fine with just hearing the hb.

my first appointment they didn't use the doppler they did the little U/S machine. But from here on out, I would guess they use the doppler. im a fluffy momma, so I know that makes it hard to find the heartbeat early too.
