Are you taking anything besides your prenatal? I'm just taking OTC prenatal tummies, but DH noticed there's not any iron in them. I'm wondering if I should get a different supplement for that? Anything else that's good to take?

I forget - have you been to your first appt yet? When I went to mine today, they gave me a reusable grocery bag FULL OF FREE VITAMIN SAMPLES. It was awesome

I'm just taking the target generic (regular pills) and not supplementing at all. It's so weird that the gummies don't have iron!

I take the gummy prenatals. I also take calcium. I heard on these boards that most people don't need extra iron until later in pregnancy but I don't know if that is true.

Lauren- calcium was the other one I was thinking. I drink atkeast a glass of milk a day...not sure if that's enough? I haven't had my first appt so hopefully I come home with the same goodies! I am going to ask for a prescription prenatal..maybe that one will have iron.

I take the prenatal gummies too (Vitafusion) because I am terrible at swallowing pills normally and frankly just cannot do it at all while pregnant, those things are huge!
When I went to my first appt a few weeks ago (really just an intake appt, not with an OB), they gave me an rx for chewable prenatals and I took them for about a week until I couldn't stomach them anymore. They are kind of like flintstones except wayyy stronger and bigger and with an absolutely horrid aftertaste. I was gagging on them so I finally said, enough. Gummies it is. No they don't have iron but I am hoping I don't need it right now anyway. Or calcium. But I'm going to ask my OB when I see him.

Garden of life raw one prenatals - includes iron- food based - no synthetics.

I researched a ton and these are the absolute best.

another option for iron supplementing is Floradix - check it out!

Just prenatals. Iron supplements never make me feel good. I have the Vitafusion gummies. They have Omega 3 and folic acid. They taste like candy, and I have no problem taking them every day.

I take my prenatals and calcium (which I believe also has Vitamin D in it?!)

My Dr. was telling me that I need much more calcium each day than a glass or two of milk can provide.

I'm taking an OTC prenatal, but think I'm gonna add calcium. I also noticed my sample prenatals from the doctor had higher amounts of folic acid, so I'll up that as well. Figure I should with the nausea and appetite so funky.

I take Rainbow Light prenatals, iron supplements since I was low iron before getting pg, Vit D, probiotics, and thyroid meds. I drink a pregnancy tea every evening before bed.

im doing prenatal gummies. I am not worried about the iron, I would think if my iron levels were low my blood work would have said and I would have gotten a call from the doc.

I was taking Rainbow Light prenatals for 6 months before I conceived, but I ran out and have two bottles of something like Nature's Bounty or Nature Life (can't remember the brand right now). They both have iron and calcium in them, but are big old horse pills that I choke down each night. I also take fish oil and a prescription to keep cold sores at bay. I tend to get huge ones when I am stressed out and my doc was worried it would weaken my immune system too much to fight them off during my first trimester. I will go off them for the second tri and then back on just before baby is born so I won't pass it on.
