My last doc was very stingy about it. I only got 1 pill a day 4mg. It was better than nothing. I still felt sick but for the 4 hours it was working I could drink.
I went for my first appt today and new doc called zofran prescription. Picked it up and it's 2 pills a day 8 mg. I started crying right there. This is the first time a doctor has taken my m/s seriously!
I took one and it worked so well I could drink AND eat and it's staying down! I keep crying over the thought that I might not suffer this time.
I got 4 mg every 4 - 6 hrs as needed. But there were only 30 pills and I wasn't sure if I could get a refil before a month was up. BUT I've been lucky and haven't had to take it that often nor everyday. Today is crazy though, I've already taken 2 so far So glad your Dr takes your M/S seriously.
So glad you found a doctor that cares. Its takes the edge off but I still puke on it, but it does help with keeping fluids down. I'm in the process of having my doctors office do a 'medical necessity' for more, my insurance only covers so many pills a months, I'll freak out if it doesn't get approved
my doc already offered it for me, but it has such bad side effects of horrid constipation, that was worse than not using it. For me it just cut down my throwing up from 4-5 times a day down to 1-2, I still felt yucky.
