...went great. There is one little gummi bear in there with a hb of about 173. The u/s measured me at 8w3d, I had calculated 8w1d, and my ob calculated 8w0d. So he is saying my edd is 10/14 but I am keeping it at 10/13. Baby was just adorable in there.

I even told my ob about planning a homebirth when I got back to Hawaii. He wasn't fully supportive but moreso than I expected. He said as long as my baby doesn't show signs of my families genetic condition at my 18 week ultrasound he would clear me as having no risk factors (Acutis aplasia runs in my family and it causes the skin to not close in fully on the babies scalp, it can also cause the baby not to have hip sockets from what I understand we would not be able to see the skin closure but as long as the baby has hip sockets he said we are fine since the scalp does not cause harm to the baby and is simply treated like a burn). Anyway he did make sure to tell me to talk to people outside of those that my midwife gives me as references as well as that he would never want his wife to do it and to keep in mind if anything happened I would have to live with it all my life. But he said it all in a light hearted manner and told me he wasn't going to try to talk me out of it any farther.

Needless to say I am pretty happy with the way my appointment went.

Awesome!! Most OBs don't support HB, so that's nice that he was supportive. I hope all goes well and you can have one!

I'm glad you had a great appointment! My husband used that argument with me for homebirth and it pissed me off. He said "if something happens and we don't make it to the hospital in time I would always blame you." So I said "if you guilt me into a hospital birth and I can blame any complications on side effects of medical intervention, I will always blame YOU" and that was the end of our argument.
