I had an ultrasound at 7.5 weeks that revealed two sacs. One with a beautiful baby with a beautiful beating heart. And the other empty. It didn't seem real at the time, so I was just thrilled with the one the one perfect heart, but after I got home and the reality set in, I was devastated. I can't help but feel overwhelming guilt for being so vocal about not wanting twins. Now I keep wishing when I go for my next appointment by some miracle my 2nd little pumpkin will be there although I know it is impossible.
Though it is highly unlikely it isn't entirely impossible. Most people expecting twins are because they ovulated twice and that doesn't mean you let two eggs go in the same day, it can mean that one was released a week or even two weeks after the first. I don't want to give you false hope, but I suppose it is possible you are still expecting two babies.
Either way I hope your next appointment is a good one.

I have no idea... I mean aside from intuition telling me that we're only getting one, we don't even get to listen for a heartbeat until 12 weeks and I have no idea when our scan will be. I do know I'll have one, but again not sure when... and I know it isn't that likely that even if I have twins the midwife would be able to hear both heartbeats at my appointment.

^^^ Except my BIL's girlfriend does actually release 2 eggs during some ovulations. She's on her third set of twins (one set is about 4, and she lost the second set around 15 weeks) and is due 3 weeks before me. Both babies are measuring exactly the same. She said it's something about having high hormones? yeaaahhh..... crazy.

But, yes, I have heard that it is totally possible to also ovulate a week or so after the first time. You never know

I didn't mean to say that it wasn't possible for you to release two eggs the same day, just that that isn't always the case with twins... sorry for any confusion.. and wow you BIL and his GF have an amazing record going... I hope this pregnancy is a happy healthy one for her!

I only see my OB in two weeks, so I have no clue.
I wouldn't mind two but I have no clue where I would put 3. LOL!

Just on here too. My mini ultrasound showed about 99.9% that there is only 1.

Wow so far it looks like at least two confirmed set of twins. Margaloves & Cspard2 !! I am having 1. I don't think I could handle two at the same time. But it could have been fun
