Almost the same thing happened when I was pregnant with Dd, my aunt went to the appointment with me and after the first five minutes or so I remember her saying "It's normal for it to take a few minutes to find the heartbeat this early" (I was 12 weeks). 10 minutes later and he still hadn't found it she kind of choked and asked "Ummm...is this still normal?" He ended up doing a u/s and because of my tilted uterus he hadn't been able to find her. She was swimming around happily though and fine. It about gave me a heart attack though.
I would have had the same mini-stroke at 12 weeks, be considering that I was nearly 15 weeks along when this happened, I'm surprised that I didn't just flat line right there! It's been so long since I've been pregnant that I forgot how nerve-wracking this is!
it's so freaky that this happened to you yesterday - it happened to me too! I don't know if you saw my update in Sept DDC, but my Dr couldn't find the hb on doppler for 10 mins and eventually gave up and we did a quick u/s. Scared the crud out of me, and it was the same situation - she was looking really low for the baby, and sure enough it was hiding up super high, so I guess we're both measuring ahead LOL. Glad everything was ok for you too (((HUGS)))
