We have been out of town at a racetrack since Wednesday. (DH is part of a racing team). It is the first professional race he's driving in, so he wanted us to be here and I want to be supportive. The first 2 days it was rainy and cold, and it was very hard to keep Sawyer entertained. He didn't want to stay in the paddock area and would just take of running or I'd have to take him on walks-- in the rain. We ended up staying a lot of the time in the hotel room so he was in closed quarters and so he could nap. Finally it was nice yesterday and sawyer entertained himself really well playing with his cars and walking over and over again on the scale they had to wrigh the cars. He took an awesome nap and was good when we went out to dinner.
Today, I just must be done!! My shoulder is sore from carrying sound the goody filled diaper bag, sawyer seems to dawdle wherever we go and it's grinding on my nerves a little..., and I'd like to be at the race track, but I'm trying to get Sawyer to take an early nap because DHs race isn't until 4- so once we go, we'll stay there. I just need a mommy break I think!! DH isn't any help because they are constantly busy working on or doing things for the cars. His parents are here and that has helped some, but I'm not looking forward to chasing Sawyer all over kingdom come during DHs hour long race.
I can totally see why parents want kid leashes, lol. We did stop at a thrift shop and he picked out a big fire truck and car, so hopefully those will help keep him entertained for a little bit!
Then we have a 10 hour drive back home tomorrow. wish me luck.
Oh you poor girl! My Sawyer would be the same way. It's so hard to take them to an adult event for an extended period of time at this age. We spent the day at an event DH was working at and all I did was chase Sawyer around. I will keep my fingers crossed for you on the 10 hour car ride. I hope you can stop for picnics.
Oh goodness! I hope you get some much deserved mommy time soon. FX your DH wins tonight and you don't get too much of a run around. Good luck on your ride back home. I hope it's a very easy journey for yinz. Looking forward to your posts when you get back home!

Thanks for the positive thoughts! Sawyer is doing really well in the car so far. He is napping and we've got 4 hours to go! Definitely need some recharge time when we get home...but it's a busy week too. Sawyer's 2nd birthday is tomorrow and we are having a birthday party for him on Saturday! Hopefully I can still sneak in some alone time tonight!
