**DH got the job!!!!! Got the call today that he will be going to Midland, TX on Tuesday for testing and orientation!!!!! Hugs!

DH was a roughneck before he went into the Army. We both feel that the military lifestyle is no longer for us, so DH is officially and thankfully, OUT OF THE ARMY!! Today was his last day! He loved being on an oil rig, and its a family tradition. His dad is a driller on a safer, nicer, rig that pays very well. I worked very hard on writing him a great resume, and his dad spoke to supervisior he has known for a very long time, and he will be calling DH on Monday. If all goes well, he will be on the next plane out to Pennsylvania to start work. This job would be a lifestyle changer for us ladies! The Army does not pay well, and this would give us a 20,000 dollar salary jump!!!!! Please think of us ladies!!

He would be two weeks on, two weeks off. He would be staying in a bunkhouse and his food is paid for. He would fly back and forth, from PA to TX. This is what his dad is doing, and he receives per diem which almost completely pays for it. We're planning to apply for a credit card with good flyer miles.
We could move anywhere we want in the country. I love TX, but to DH, the mere thought of leaving Texas is sacrilegious. lol

I'll definitely say an extra prayer for you and your beautiful family. PA isn't that bad. I actually enjoy it :0) I understand though that Texans are pretty much die hard Texans, which is really cool. I wish more people had that much pride in where they were from.

Two full weeks off at a time would be like having a vacation. One of my brothers is a surveyor at a mine and he use to get two weeks off, you can take little vacations or get a lot of things done with that schedule.
