I've been looking into the different diapering systems, and found this g-diapers biodegradable/ flush-able diaper inserts. Has anyone used flush-able diapers? Did it clog up your toilet? Did you have any troubles with them? Would you recommend them to a first time mom?

Thanks!

I have never used them, but I am so funny about my septic tank that I don't even flush the flushable wipes down the toilet, lol. I think it stems from my brother who used to be a plumber and he would tell me the horror stories about tampons, wipes, etc going into the septic tanks and filling them up so bad.

We have to use Scott brand toilet paper - anything else like the quilted stuff ends up clogging our toilets, so I would not be able to use them.

I guess it all depends on your home and how it does with things like this.

I have a few friends that have tried the G-diapers and none have them stayed with them (I think they all had leaking issues). I use cloth and have used the GroVia disposable inserts (biosoakers) with no issues. Hope that helps!

Lurking from December 2012 PR (have a friend who just joined your DDC!) – but I bought G-diapers to use with DD1 – and barely touched them. I think as a FTM I thought it would be a good compromise, but honestly, they were just kind of a PIA. The rubber/plastic liners get pretty gross, they leak, etc… I just ended up using disposable the whole time. However, I did not have a problem flushing the liners for the few times that I used them. (For what it’s worth, I decided to cloth diaper this time around, and am loving it. I am using the Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers.)

I have like 22 G diapers and I really dislike them. They leak, they were not quick and easy, i did not used the flushable inserts though. I did the reusable cloth inserts.
