I know we are all having vivid dreams, but has anybody had a dream that seemed more like a waking hallucination? I was not feeling well all day yesterday (just kind of blah, not sick necessarily) so I drank a lot of fluids and laid down for some rest. I fell asleep on the sofa in the evening, maybe 5 or 6, and until after 8, had a dream that took place, in real time, on the sofa. I was paralyzed basically, like I could barely move - it was so difficult. I couldn't turn on the lights or use the phone, and I was worried because there were people in my back yard. I was there for hours feeling helpless like I couldn't do anything, or shoo those people away. I woke up and it had just gotten dark and I felt so freaking bizarre. Then I was up in the middle of the night with more weird dreams. Thankfully those weren't the hallucination ones!! Just a regular nightmare!

arrgggg

Wow that would freak me out too...I've not had that type of hallucination like dreams in recent times...BUT I have had something similar before when I slept for long periods during the day. I avoid day time naps because of that...During pregnancy I take a max of a 1 hr nap during weekends and even that makes me feel kind of blah when I wake up even though I can't remember any dreams during that time...

I hope you pass this phase quickly...I hate weird dreams / nightmares!

Nope you're just crazy.

Kidding!!

I haven't had any day-time hallucinations, but I did have a pretty terrible nightmare that was very vivid and seemed very realistic. It was so bad that when I woke up from it at like 4am and had to go to the bathroom, I refused to get out of bed because I was so freaked out that it might have been real.

Pregnancy always gives me the wackiest dreams. I've learned that it is a good sign I'm pregnant, that and I want to drink milk and I am NOT a milk drinker otherwise.

I haven't had anything like that happen.... thankfully, that sounds really scary.
BUT, I did have a dream the other night that I was at a wedding for a GIRAFFE!!! WTH is that about? lol. I woke up from that one laughing.

I am not a napper normally... I think I'll just have to set a timer or just avoid napping in the day time (or at least, close to evening time) in the future. My DH always stops me if it looks like I'm about to fall asleep in the early evening - if I wake up and it's dark, the whole night is shot and I feel terrible. I thought it'd be just a quick nap but nope, horrible long terror nap, haha.

Glad to know I'm not alone in weird dreams - giraffe wedding?! lolol

I have had those kinds of experiences and I don't think they're dreams so much as being asleep but having consciousness at the same time. People who practice astral projection go through that.

I heard that the reason pregnant women have such vivid dreams is we wake up during REM (Rapid eye movement) sleep which is when you dream the most so when you wake up during that time its easy to remember the dreams like it had just happened.

I had a weird dream two nights ago and I actually woke up crying but once I described my dream to my boyfriend it was just ridiculous we ended up laughing hysterically.

That is so interesting! I don't know anything about that, but I'll google.

I really hope there weren't people in my yard - I don't want anybody drowning in the pool!
