Hey!

Based on your suggestions I had a lot of really lovely cribs to look at and I think that for my back up crib (if Ikea doesn't get the sundvik back soon enough) I'm going to go with the Jenny Lind crib, which is a nice vintage inspired crib design. It's a good contrast with the modern crib I have/had picked out from Ikea. I'm impatient though and I can buy Jenny Lind NOW, whereas Ikea's crib is a ? - could come back tomorrow, could come back in 10 months.

Anyway, based on what I have going on in the room so far in these inspiration boards, which crib do you prefer in the space? For reference, I'm also going to post a VERY OLD picture of the room (pics taken when we were looking at the house - just to show the built ins/windows) and another to show the new colors but it's messy, sorry)

the built ins are painted white gloss.

@ Jennyrae I'm going to do one for you tomorrow! Even if just for fun

Yippee!!!!!

Okay I have to say I really like the Ikea crib the best. That would be my first choice, but obviously only if it ever comes back in stock!

PS, here is the crib and changing table I bought, so you can use it if you want, or have an idea of the nursery

Oh wow.... hmm.... I don't know. Both cribs give the room a different feel. I feel like the ikea one might make the room feel a little stiff? Lots of lines. But the Jenny Lind one is a little more... detailed? I think. I'm trying to think if that is what it is.

I mean, if you wanted to wait until you found out the gender. I feel like the ikea one could go either way, but the Jenny Lind one is a little more feminine. Does that make sense?

I like the first crib. The other seems a little blocky to me.

I like the Jenny Lind crib with the rocking chair...

And the ikea crib with dresser. Did you already buy that dresser?

Honestly I like both equally. Looking super cute so far! I love the polka dot rug so much I would add something like a lampshade with little mini dots the same color as the rug.

Already bought everything on there except the crib! Once I started, I really got started! I even have a crafting week set with one of my BFFs in late june to finish the projects, lol. I'm stocking up now so we have that week to work, and then unwind and float in the pool.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! My mom told me I had one of those Jenny lind cribs, but in cherry, incidentally. That might also be swaying me into impatience land since it's available, too.

I like the Jenny Lind crib, but I may be biased since that's the one I am planning on buying!

By itself, I think I like the Jenny Lind crib. In the room, I think I like the IKEA one. I think it plays off the geometric shapes better.

The rug nicely ties the rocker into the room. I'm loving the color palette. You definitely must post finished pics!

I like the IKEA one better - it fits with the room (and maybe I'm biased because I'm thinking of getting it, too!), and I really like how well it goes with the dresser.

I like the Jenny Lind crib. It is more classic.
(Is that an old pic of the crib? It looks like a drop side that they can't sell anymore. )

I like the Jenny Lind one too. My first baby had that one in cherry too
It is a very nice, classic looking crib that will look nice with any design.
I love what you have done with the room, it looks great

My grandfolks were upholsterers, and so I'm sort of a furniture snob. (We were poor, but we always had good furniture).

Anyway, I'm just stating my biases before I tell you not to get the Ikea crib lol. Ikea's stuff looks nice, and I even have a thing or two from them in my place, but I can't imagine putting my most precious 9-months-to-make child in a crib from them knowing how loose and rickety much of their furniture gets after even a short period of light use. Their stuff is also really light weight a lot of the time, which makes me uncomfortable too. If it's supposed to support body weight, I want to feel some heft to it.

Maybe their cribs are different (they do have to meet standards after all), but I cringe at the thought of using one. ... but that's just me.

I'm not familiar with the other maker, but it's a lovely crib - is it a price point you're going for or would you consider a wider variety of styles? I ask not to throw a wrench in your gears but because there are a lot of really nice, barely used cribs on craigslist. I might be going that route, depending on what I find.

You're doing good - either way.
