So! Looking at today's Old Navy sale and wondering - what is the difference between my regular bikini bottoms and maternity bikini bottoms?

Oldnavy.com | Old Navy

Are they just roomier in the belly area? I don't know how they could make this work and be different. I did notice that the front of my string bikini started to droop a little even with my beginning of a belly. I don't wear very modest bikinis though but as far as growing goes, my butt is the same size, it's just my stomach getting bigger at this point. Is there really any difference?

I have no idea. I haven't worn a bikini since I was in high school, lol.

I haven't worn a one piece bathing suit since I was in high school! I was pretty modest. I was thinking maybe I'd get one now, kind of a sweetheart retro look for the belly. Or maybe I'll wait til next year, in case I need some more time after baby.

Either way after thinking about those maternity bottoms, I think they are probably the same. I'll wear my regular suits until it's indecent, I think!! Or pick one to just stretch out and wear it all summer, and leave my other suits intact.

they probably are just about the same. I can't imagine much difference with a bikini bottom since it doesn't go up on your tummy.

Last pregnancy i wore my regular bikini through the whole pregnancy. It seems to fit great and then about 4 months pp i put it on. I had totally stretched it out and ruined it. This pregnancy I bought a regular cheap bikini to wear so I don't ruin my favorite.

I would assume they are the same maybe just cost more with the maternity tag in it?

I was planning on using my regular ones, but only the ones that have adjustable tie bottoms, that way I don't stretch them out too bad! I have two from VS that are side-ties, so I think I'll just wear those instead of buying new. Besides, I'm pretty sure the tops will still fit too, considering my boobs haven't grown even two millimeters since I got pregnant! lol the swimsuits have removable padding, so if they decide to expand, I'll just take out the padding
