But I got this overwhelming feeling that I should just cancel my elective U/s and stay team green again this time!! I mean $175.00 is a LOT of money to find out the sex of the baby lol could be money used FOR the baby! Plus driving 8 hours total to get there and back will SUCK! The surprise at the end is always amazing as well, hmm what to do? lol

Wow that is a lot of driving! Do you have an anatomy ultrasound scheduled with your doctor? I definitely understand the anticipation so I can't say whether or not I would do it if I was you. I think it would all depend on how soon I would be able to find out from my doctor. If it was going to be a matter of months later, I might consider doing it. Otherwise hubby is pretty cheap and would probably want to just wait. I have always thought team green would be so fun but I am just not patient enough

The doctor will NOT tell gender here, so If I want to know I'd have to get the elective.

I'm in NL in a SMALL town and they will not tell. We never found out with our last either, there wasn't even an elective place in the PROVINCE then. LOL

WHAAAAAAAAAT!!! $175 and an 8 hour drive?!?!? wow that is a LOT of effort to find out the sex of the baby! But I would be PISSED that my doctor didn't offer it, especially if the next option was 8 hours away!!!!!! Oh man...

That is so insane, I have never heard of this! You could always see if the tech would take a "gender shot" that you could bring home and try to figure it out yourself... InGender is a great site where you can post your ultrasound picture, there are ultrasound tech's on there that can take a look and tell you what they think. Or maybe you could research it before your ultrasound so you have a good idea of what to look for on the ultrasound.

Otherwise if it were me, I would do the elective lol!

If you can make a day trip out of it, and there's some other cool spots to see then the drive wouldn't be so bad. As for the proie- we paid $225 but we get to go back for another two times. Knowing the gender is soooo worth it for me!

I would do it! Unless you want to be on team green, it will be worth knowing which sex to plan for.

Team green is fun though!

The only reason we found out this time was to give dd time to accept the baby if it were to be another boy- which turned out to be the case

BUT I totally understand because we found out with our first two so team green was easier with our little ones since we already had a boy and girl and hand-me-downs for either.

If I couldn't find out from the doc, I don't think I'd have the patience to wait and go team green. I say go for it!

NO WAY!! we can not afford that-
