Just a reminder to find yourself some good lotion and start lotioning up that tummy! That baby is gonna start growing really fast so it's good to start now to get in the routine

I wish someone had told me to lotion up with my 1st, I'm sure I could have avoided way more stretch marks that way.

Also, mind sharing what you use/plan to use. And those BTDT momma's have any recommendations? I'm gonna start using Arbonne body dream. I've had success last time with just the cheapy belly balm from Walmart.

Thanks for the reminder! My mom bought me Bio Oil, she said she used something similar to it with me and my brother and she got NO stretch marks! Either good genes or good oil!

Vitamin E Oil is what I used with my son. I got it at a health food store and used it from the first week I found out I was pregnant until the week I delivered and did not have a single stretch mark on my stomach! I did get some on my boobs but I never put anything there. At my baby shower I got some cocoa butter lotion and used that some to, it helped alot with the itchy and dry feeling.

I have a couple different kinds I plan on using. I figure something is better than nothing, lol. I am not good about using lotion, but my belly gets so dry and itchy.

African Black soap lotion. It is soooooo awesome and it smells soo good.

Amazon.com: African Black Soap Lotion 8 Ounces: Health & Personal Care

I use it for my 5 year old's ezcema too. It is a wonderful thick lotion that does not go on greasy at all. We use the body wash too.

Ladies I just bought that Burts Bees vitamin e lotion at walgreens.com - 6.39 instead of 8.00 and if you spend 25 its free shipping (which I did easily with other toiletries, like shampoo, mascara, bobby pins etc)

I guess it's better late than never, I've been wanting to find some good lotion, I always thought it was a myth that lotion helps prevent stretch marks... I guess I just never met anyone that didn't get them! I've got them, but would like to help them go away, so the suggestions are great!!!

Yeah, my mom told me to start lotioning up as soon as I told her I was preggo, lol. She told me to be sure to cover my belly, thighs, butt, & boobs NOW. She told me to get the Shea cocoa butter but it smells like I'm covered in vanilla pudding and I can't stand it. So I've been using my daily aveeno moisturizer. I'm gonna look into the Mamma bee stuff though! Thanks Ladies!

So glad you started this, I've been curious is stretch mark creams really work. I've been using Mustela double action stretch marks cream but still to early to know if this stuff works.

Mustela Stretch Marks Double Action: Shop Mother & Baby | Sephora

A friend of mine who is a doctor and also pregnant said that she uses this, and was told about it by another doctor friend of hers who is a dermatologist and just had a baby. She highly recommends it. It's expensive, but...I'll pay for it to hopefully prevent and/or eliminate any stretch marks. I just started using it today!

I don't know if lotion could prevent ALL stretch marks but I think it certainly does help. With my first I didn't lotion at all really, I got a ton... with y second I lotioned a ton and didn't get a single new stretch mark! So I think it did help. I'll have to try Vit E I've heard wonders for other scars and such. Over the years my stretch marks have faded so it would be nice not to add to it all.

I greased myself like a monkey with kid #1 and still got them.
I'll use jojoba oil and vitamin e just to help with itching later.

It's all genetics that gives them to you. =) I lotioned up like a mad woman with my first, got them from belly button to lower back! Didn't care with my second, didn't get a single new one. My first had also gone to silver/skin color by the second. My mom was the same way.

This time my skin has been itching, and the only thing that helps is steroid cream. It knocks any itch out, but there's nothing there to itch. So weird!

I am mixing Bio Oil with Cocoa Butter. It seems to be working well.
I got absolutely no stretch marks with Finn!

I have a lot from Dd and I agree genetics plays a huge roll. But lotions and making sure you are hydrated helps with skin elasticity and that does help a lot! I am currently using a mix of rosehip and sweet almond oil at night and burts bee tummy butter in the mornings. I also try to drink a TON of water throughout the day...
