I'm probably the earliest since my mother, who is since banned from all of my appointments I swear, told the doctor I should get it done since she had it and my father has horrible diabetes.
The drink sucked but was not that bad (carbonated kool aid? Syrup?)
The worst part?
THE WAITING. Especially since I forgot to do any research and went in completely blind and didn't think I'd be stuck there for an hour. I told the nurse to please just take all of my blood so I would not have to come back ever again.
I treated myself to chipotle and a shopping trip to the store afterwards
No idea the results, just wanted to share my experience since I know there are other FTMs here!

Nope! I had it at 8 weeks! lol My doctor said it was because I was overweight, the lab techs said it was because I had my doctor. Apparently she gives all the ladies an early test. If she would have bothered to ask, she would have been informed I have hypoglycemia. I will never fail that test!

I actually don't mind it at all. I guzzle that drink, bring my eReader, wait an hour. I have to take the test again at 24-26 weeks when I was really supposed to have it as well. I'll pass it. lol

It seems to be becoming popular to do them earlier now, although I am pretty sure my Dr still does it in the late 20 week range.

Hoping that you get good results!

I had one early last pregnancy due to my weight and then again late too.

So far so good this time. It was mentioned once about possibly doing early, but my glucose has been good in my urine they said and I've lost 8lbs this pregnancy with no gain, so it seems we're waiting until the standard 24ish weeks.

The waiting is the worst. I down the drink to get it over with.

Eh...the drink is not the best stuff, but until this pregnancy, I didn't think I had much to worry about, but I'm a little concerned this time, cuz I am 10 lbs heavier than the first starting out and 20 lbs heavier than the second, but with that being said, I haven't gained much, so I am hoping i'll be okay!!!

Yeah it really wasnt that bad - the waiting was what sucked!

Also I probably will never get a call...I've learned with these doctors (I have only been seen at military hospitals) that no call means I'm okay. I never got a call about my blood tests or my genetic screenings I probably would not have gotten a call about being pregnant if I had told them I thought I was pregnant (I went in because I specifically did not think I was pregnant)

You are all more positive than I am. That orange drink is the NASTIEST thing I have ever tasted, already dreading thinking about having to drink it this time around!

Weird, I don't even get one until 28 weeks. I'm actually surprised because I notoriously have big babies. (Hoping this one is under 10 lbs!!!)

I seriously LOATHE these drs that test for GD this early. TRUE GD will not show until the 3rd tri. If you ladies are failing the tests, it is because you have diabetes, which needs to be treated. In all honesty though, you ladies that are asked to do the test, should decline it and ask for an A1C and fasting glucose test instead. Those are the best indictors (other than using a glucose monitor at home) of whether you have GD or diabetes. There are MANY false + with those stupid drink tests.
