Watching or reading the news lately gets me really upset and emotional. I'm suddenly scared to bring a child into this world with such cruelty and craziness. I don't remember the news on tv or online affecting me SO much.

Is this a pregnancy thing? Is anyone else feeling this way?

I am feeling that way too. I've been following the Gosnell trial and get so emotional on that. Then I see the news about the Ohio abductions and get teary too....

Motherhood changes you. I had to leave me ex-job becuase it was making me crazy. Your children become your world and you literally love so hard it makes you looney!

This is totally normal and I think its something every mom goes through. I try not to watch but its hard not to hear about it when your family keeps the tv glued to CNN on a daily basis.

I rarely watch the news. I figure if this is what happens now, what will it be like when my children are adults. However, when I go back to MN, the news is very, uh, dull. I live in a big city, so there is always something to report on.

agree! and the older they get the harder it is. especially when they're not with you all the time (work, school etc.) and youre not able to watch over them 24/7.

I agree it is a mom thing. I never really cared about the news before I had my first son in 2000. It is a scary thing, but hopefully the little ones that we bring into a new generation will help to make the world a BETTER place.
