In the garage, we have a ladder that pulls down from the ceiling and goes into the attic. While getting a suitcase down, I came across a tote that had baby clothes I thought I had misplaced. I brought the suitcase down. I slid the tote down the ladder. As I stepped off, I found I wasn't to the ground yet. The tote was about to slam into my belly because I lost my grip. I pushed it over, but it hit the garage opener and the sound of the garage opening startled me. I caught myself before I fell, but I twisted my ankle. My neck already hurts as well as a little in my lower back and knee.
I know better than to tell DH or my parents...that would result in a lecture! I will be ok, but I'm just ticked at myself as I am always so careful on ladders.
Guess that means getting the crib down from the attic in a few months will be off limits.
no ladders! I am glad you're ok - your ankle will heal up soon. I use a ladder now sporadically but only to hang hooks and light wire shelving in the garage.. nothing too high or heavy. DEFINITELY outsource the labor on that crib, girl! I act like a preggo princess at home with ladders and lifting (can you change the fire alarm battery? can you carry the vacuum up the stairs for me? etc) and it works out great
Surprisingly, I felt fine this morning, but as I have been sitting here at work my ankle is feeling a bit sore and a little swollen and my neck is slightly sore. I know the 4" heels I'm wearing would never aggravate it.
