That's funny you're freaking out about turning 30 in 5 years!
I've really enjoyed my 30's so far.
Anyways, I want to be done by 35 (I'm 32 now) so we plan to have another one not too far from this one. AND if a 3rd happened... I wouldn't mind...
After that we talked about him getting snipped. I think when you are as young as you are, you shouldn't do anything too final, but that's just my opinion.
Lol well I was freaking out about it because I do not want to get pregnant after my 20s. I hear all the "higher risks" once a woman turns 30 and although I know it doesnt mean anything will go wrong im too much of a worrier to even go there, so I was really freaking over the fact that IF we have another baby it would have to be within the next 5 years and that just isnt an option seeing as Athena and Vivvy are so close in age. The vasectomy honestly disturbs me...the idea of them putting a hole in my husband and then fishing out the vas deferens...yeah it makes me feel sick to think about the process. That doesnt mean we wont decide on it later but at least for a while Im going to need to go with something else.
Honestly, I wasn't thinking of doing anything permanent until I turned 30 at least (I'm 27) because the 30's are still prime for childbearing years... But after everything we've been through recently we are definitely done. I'm satisfied with our decision.

I signed the papers yesterday I'm getting snipped! Hey, I'm 25 with God willing, 4 beautiful children and one amazing step son who has to have C-sections anyway. The benefits definitely outweigh the risks for us and I couldn't be more excited about my decision. Uterine rupture doesn't sit well with me, nor do needles and surgery in general. I love my children and if we want more, we'll try to adopt later on. I just personally think it's better for my health if I get snipped.
PS! Arwen, how did you convince them to take the whole tube out? This sounds like the best thing I've heard of because it decreases the chance of ectopic pregnancy.

I've had some problems with the pill in the past and now that I am 36 the risks with them are higher. My husband is considering getting snipped, but I'll have to see if he really will go through with it. It took as 1 1/2 years of trying to get pregnant when we had a miscarriage in December, but then we got pregnant right away without really trying, so even though I am 36 I don't want to assume we can be lax and we really are done. I would consider a non-hormonal IUD too, although it sounds painful.
