So my midwife pushed up my appointment to today since I have been itching. They did some blood work - liver function and bile acids. Bile acids are what actually build up in your blood with cholestasis but the tests take 10 days to come back and sometimes it doesn't become abnormal until after you've had it for a while. Anyway, the liver function results were only slightly elevated so they aren't going to start me on medication until they get the bile acid results back. I hope I don't have it at all, but if I do have it I hope it shows up so they can start me on the medicine early. I think I had it for at least a month before I was diagnosed last time and it was awful even on medication.

She said I could, although the itchiness is not so bad yet that it is keeping me from sleeping.

I really hope you don't have it or if you do, it pops up positive early on so you can get the help you need. Sounds rough, Wren. I couldn't imagine being itchy all the time and losing sleep over it. It would drive me bonkers especially while already being pregnant and cranky. Good luck hun and keep us posted!
