Both my midwife and OB want me to increase my protein to 80-100g a day, which I know is common but I am having a hard time doing it! The one thing that is really helping me is having at least one protein shake a day as a snack.
Have you been told to increase your protein? If so how are you doing it?
I have been told to increase iron intake but not protein. I have noticed that I consume less protein during pregnancy though. My meat aversion from earlier is pretty much gone now but the only foods that sound good are pasta, vegetables, fruit, and other lighter foods. I rarely eat meat but I do get protein from other sources.
My sugar and BP are fine. My midwife recommends those numbers to all her mom's and I think my OB mentioned it because of the swelling in my feet. He said although my feet are my only sign of possible toxemia increasing my protein to those numbers would help to lower my chances of developing pre-e later on.
