So I know it will be asked again later and that I am totally stealing this from another DDC, but I was curious! When will you go on maternity leave?
I actually told my boss I want to start August 1-ish, give or take. I have finals the next week and at my job it's stressful, I'm on my feet for the entire time, and I don't make a lot (it's an hourly entry job...) so I know it's not a big deal to them. Especially since I went part time and actually had to quit for a month earlier this year they dont have to pay me anything.
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.
My toddler doesn't allow maternity leave. I am a SAHM but last pregnancy I started my maternity leave at 36 weeks 6 days. I wanted a couple of weeks to relax. My water broke my first day off at exactly 37 weeks.
My maternity leave with Finn started 07/06 of ladt year and finished 06/23 of this year.
I am taking 6 weeks paid vacation right now.
My new maternity leave will start a little early ...08/09 and I am returning to work in January 2015!
I plan on going up until I go into labor, or if I have to have another induction (which I don't think will happen this time) then I will work up until the day before. I only get 6 weeks off and I want to spend all of them with her.

I won't start maternity leave until I pop. Long story on my end, since I'm not coming back to work, but I'd prefer to work as long as I can and then use my sick/vacation time to get some extra paychecks at the end when I "cash out." I'm still taking 12 weeks of paid maternity leave and then will not be returning afterwards (which I haven't discussed with my boss yet - again, long story).
I'll go as long as possible. I may be able to work remotely towards the end, but I want to save pay for after he's here. My doctor and hospital are super close so I don't have to worry about a drive or anything. We've joked they'll hand me a laptop to use while laboring.

I work part time at Starbucks so I won't be taking leave, just leaving to be a SAHM. I almost gave my notice yesterday, but felt bad because so many other people have left recently. I will have to give it soon, I can't physically keep doing my job. I'd like to have time to get the house ready too before I'm too big anyways. Lots to clear out and then set up!
I plan to work up until a day or two before my induction. I took a month off before I had Maya and I just sat at home the whole time WAITING and it was torture. At least at work I can get a full paycheck (not just disability) and be distracted. Plus my doctor and hospital is located near my work, so if I go into labor before my induction, then I will be close by.

I am a SAHM, but with my photography I am kinda working up until I cant. The only thing I did have that needed certain dates, I had to push back to after the baby is born since we know I will not go to my due date, that helped. I will be doing the school pictures the week after I have the baby, if I get that far.
