I was looking for a chart that showed me the length of pregnancy by week and the likelihood of delivering early/late. Thought I'd share:

Length of pregnancy by week

I went to 42 weeks with my daughter and took castor oil to start labor (and it worked--my water broke 2 hours later). Hopefully since I was in the minority according to the stats on that chart that means I'll have this baby closer to my EDD this time!

Thanks for sharing! That's kind of different than what I've always heard: that the due date is the date where 95% of women will give birth within a week before or a week after... this makes it more like 80%. It's good for me to see this because my sister gave birth at 35 weeks and I have a friend who gave birth at 33, so my perception is a bit warped - glad to see it's unlikely to happen!

I was in the 6.4% with my first son. My water broke right after 37 weeks with him.

I guess I beat the odds all 3 times. My babies were born at 37w, 35w5d, and 35w1d.

I'd be curious to see this chart done separately for first time and second or more babies, how many were twins and singletons and that sort of thing... though breaking it up that way would make it difficult to get accurate numbers.
I've always heard that first time mamas usually go at 40.5 weeks on average. I have been early with both my babies so far, but my second probably wouldn't have been early if it hadn't been for an impatient midwife. I wonder if this one will be early or late.. I've been horrible at predicting with my kids when they will come.
