So I've pretty much decided on a gray chevron nursery... and was planning on choosing an accent color once I knew girl or boy. BUT I'm really leaning towards yellow and I sorta already made that mobile with the gray, white, and yellow. So I was pinteresting this afternoon (yes, I made that word up) and I came across two different bedding sets I liked.

Here's the first:

Here's the second:

Opinions on which one you like better? The first is like $500..so I'd have my mom recreate it. The second actually comes with 9 pieces and is $179, which seems really reasonable to me.

My only thinking is that my original intent was to have one accent wall be big chevron and I was going to have the crib go against it. But I'm wondering if that will be too much. I could however, just make the accent wall a different one.

I'm going to go with the first. Zig zags have always been a little harsh on my eyes, and the different pattern with the polka dots helps to soften it to me. That grey, white, and teal is also pretty together, but ti will be just a cute with yellow. =)

I'd do something different for the accent wall because, again, zig zags are harsh on the eyes IMO. But if you love the pattern, go for it!

Our nursery is gray, white and teal. I have big gray and white stripes on the wall behind the crib. I have also seen chevron stripes on the wall behind the crib (in person) and do not think it looks excessive by any means. I have always loved gray and yellow, and was going to do that at first but decided to go with a more dramatic pop of color with the teal.

I like the mix of patterns in the first a lot. I'm thinking the chevron wall should be either the one the crib is on, or the wall across from it. I think it makes sense to have the crib on the focal wall, so you may just want to pay with the scale of the stripes as compared to the bedding, so it's not the same zig zag all over.

So cute!

I LOVE the first one! I've been collecting chevron things for Jude too. Target has a chevron bedding option also if you haven't looked into that. I don't know how much longer it will be around though.

Didn't know about the target one!! I was kind of set on the goldenrod yellow but DH is saying that yellow is too girly if we end up having a boy... Grr! I told him we should just go find out the gender so we know! I would love to do a pink accent color if its a girl and a blue/teal if its a boy...but if I did the yellow I could finish it before he or she gets here!

I like the yellow, and I think it is very gender neutral.

I like the 2nd one best. I think the yellow gives it a good, mellow pop. I don't think yellow is girly either. it is a very gender neutral color to me.

I like the first set best b/c it's a nice cool gray and it mixes patterns. Totally agree on the target chevron sheet. Pick up a blue one, a pink one, a yellow one, and a grey one! Return the ones you don't want later

As for the wall - I tried and tried to find you this picture DH or I took at the french bakery. They have a modified chevron wall that is gorgeous. I think it's likely I'll be back there in the next couple weeks so if I go, I'll snap a picture for you. It's a chevron accent wall, in gray, without super hard lines. I think they have cut out the middle point (the zag) but left the zig, ha. It's almost like a herringbone. Anyway it looks cool. It could be a little easier on the eyes, especially if you used it behind the crib. And, rather than having to use painter's tape and meticulously get the angles right for a perfect chevron, you could make a stencil and attach a level to it and move it around your pattern.

You must take pictures as you go! I love it.

I like the first one. Not a super fan of the yellow.

Noahs room is gray and white paint stripes on 2 walls and turquoise on the other 2. And some orange highlights.

I love the first one, the mix of patterns really helps! The second one has too much solid yellow. You really need some solid white in there to break it up.

I also love the striped wall of the first one, but I don't think a chevron wall would be too much either (depending on the scale).

Thanks for all your input! SoulDonut- I have a hard time imagining it, although it sounds cool! I'd love to see a pic if you guys go back some time in the future. I decided to have my mom make the set! I just bought a white bumper with one gray stripe, and then I ended up getting a teal chevron fabric for my mom to make the crib skirt with, and a gray polka dot to make a little border at the bottom.

As for sheets, there is a cute gray sheet with little white elephants I think I'm going to get from Target. I'm hoping it turns out super cute. DH was not keen on yellow, turns out that teal wasn't that better of a choice in his eyes, but TOO BAD! I must be nexting or something, because I just want to have decisions made! So we are doing teal and gray and if it's a boy I may add in some red accents and if it's a girl, I will definitely add in some magenta accents.

I'm excited! Will definitely take pictures as we do it. I have to finish Sawyer's race car room before I can start working on the nursery, so my plate is loaded!
