Okay sorry for the overly dramatic title, but...

I CAN'T FLIPPING BREATHE! It's like one day I woke up and had an elephant sitting on my chest. Just out of nowhere. I was sort of expecting to gradually have a harder and harder time getting air, but this is ridiculous! I am so uncomfortable. At night I just lay in bed wishing I had an oxygen tank or something, because it is the worst when I lay down. And it doesn't matter what position I am in, I can never get a full breath.

I can't even imagine how terrible it is going to be at the end of my pregnancy when I look like a house.

I get like that to sometimes, they say about the 3rd trimester is when the shortness of breath hits us. I went to labor and delivery due to it a week ago. :C

It's mild for me most times, but yeah. As if I didn't feel like a lard butt as it is...

I've got to agree. It's getting harder to breathe. I have to walk up a flight of steps to go to the bathroom and I do it about 50 times a day. It really exhausts me. I also have to walk up and down a hill to go get drinks, food, etc and OH MY GOD! I can't breathe when I get back home. DH works from sun up to 9 at night so there's not even relief in sight once I reach the bottom of our steps outside. I have to huff and puff it on up. I'm calling shannanigans on this pregnancy shortness of breath starting in the third trimester myth.

Jenny- I so feel you on this one! I thank my lucky stars that I haven't (knock on wood) gotten to the point yet of being unable to breathe... But with my first pregnancy, I could not breathe from November until I gave birth in April. It was terrrrrrrrrrrrrible. I remember sobbing one day because I couldn't breathe in even a little and I was trying to read a book to my class. Continuously talking and plugged noses do not go together even one bit. I called my ob sobbing and Tylenol had been recalled and the said there was nothing they could do.

Afrin was my lifesaver. I couldn't function without it! It's not recommended for pregnancy but it was the only thing that worked for me.

Now on the huffing and puffing-- every time I carry a sleeping 2 year old up to bed I also out of breath it's not even funny!!

I have days like this. And then it's better for a few days. And then happens again. I hate it.

Aw, that stinks Can you develop pregnancy asthma, like you can develop GD? I have had a few moments where breathing is tough, like the other day when I tried to help DH fix something upstairs. My job was to flip the breakers.. downstairs. Up and down, up and down.. then by the end I just stayed down and waited for him to call out to me to flip the breaker. I just couldn't go up and down any more!

im out of shape to start with and right now I feel even worse. I feel like I have to stretch to breath just right and add the heat and humidity, its even tougher.
