He's okay. It was more him running into a car (dummy) that was probably going 20/25, but it was scary, nonetheless. He got out of our fence and I went over to call him back, he walked toward me and then just bolted into the street. I was screaming because I could see the car and knew what was going to happen, but luckily, he walked away with only a nicked toe nail.

Ugh. And on top of that, I'm pretty sure I've got a sick 2 year old. He's napping and he felt quite warm when I put him down. He also refused to eat his cinnamon bun this morning, which is very unlike my sugar loving boy.

Oh, my heart dropped when I read the title of your post. I'm so glad he is okay. My dog has no road sense and tries to chase cars when she is on leash, so I get really paranoid when she escapes our yard.

That happened to my sister's little black terrier - she panicked and bolted right for a busy street. She ran INTO the road right as a car came by and she bounced off the side of it and started running the other way - unscathed.

If she had gotten there a split second sooner, she'd be toast. Any later, and she'd probably be toast. Lucky **** stupid dog.

Ugggghhh, for as much as I love dogs, I hate them. That looking at the owner & bolting is so typical. Just want to string them up & explain how cooler their life would be if they listened all the time! They are part of the family though & so sorry you had to witness that!

Glad your dog is ok! I hope your little man starts to feel better soon! It is so hard when they are sick. You just feel so helpless I hate it.

Thanks! It could have been a lot worse, I can't believe he came out okay! Definitely glad that he did though.

As for Sawyer, he's been sleeping for most of the day and I finally got him to eat something this evening. I think Advil is helping and hopefully he will be feeling better tomorrow, not worse.

I'd be hysterical. One of my worst fears. My kids have never had a fear of cars, particularly my crazy @** little girl. She got out once and my neighbor said he saw her walking down the yellow line like she was daring cars to hit her. (Fortunately another neighbor picked her up and I bailed her out of doggy jail.) And she's obsessed with car rides.

I'm so glad yours is ok.

Aww poor doggie, glad he's OK. I saw a dog get hit by a car once, it was awful, started crying right away. I hope Sawyer feels better soon.
