On Thursday I had my Rhogam shot and about an hour later started to feel sick, I'm not sure if it was connected or not but according to the internet flu-like symptoms are a side effect of Rhogam. Around bed time I noticed the baby wasn't being very active but kind of figured if I wasn't feeling well he probably wasn't either. Yesterday my son woke me up just before 6 and laid in bed with me until 630 or so, because the baby hadn't be active the night before I was really paying attention to it when I woke up. I didn't feel him at all. I had to get my 3 kids ready for camp and while doing so I was drinking water, Pepsi and eating chocolate. Anything to see if the baby would move. NOTHING was working. Poking him wasn't working either. Needless to say I started to freak out.

After dropping the kids off at camp and telling the one instructor what was going on I headed to triage. As soon as they put the dopplar on my stomach we heard a heartbeat and I completely lost it. I told the lady I was good and she could let me go but of course she couldn't do that. So I got hooked up to monitors for a non stress test. I still couldn't feel the baby move at this point but I could hear him moving on the dopplar. The dr. in triage got a hold of my dr. who was in surgery and she wouldn't let me leave until I had a biophysical profile. This was the first real ultrasound I had since my NT scan at 12 weeks and I learned that I have an anterior placenta and the baby is breach. I couldn't feel him move because he had his knees and feet up by his head and they were both hidden behind the placenta. I'm so glad there was a reason I couldn't feel him and everything was fine. Now if I don't feel him moving at least I know there is probably a reason.

I am also very thankful for my best friend who had worked the midnight shift and was trying to sleep but was trying her best to calm me through texts and and awesome DDB who was letting me text her. In case anyone was wondering what DDBs are for this is a perfect example! She was very supportive and gave me an additional person to talk to.

Whew; I'm so glad to hear all is well. I thought it wouldn't need my doppler after my bb got big enough to feel kick - oh boy, was I wrong. Quiet day? Doppler. Feeling nervous? Doppler. It has kept me sane, and is worth its weight in at least silver.

So glad everything was ok!! What a stressful day!
At this point you should be able to hear baby with a normal stethoscope too. If you didn't want to spend the money on the doppler.

I have a high anterior placenta and I still feel kicks and wiggles, but my baby isn't breech either.. this makes me seriously wonder where my Doppler is, when I got it baby was too little to find a heart beat I bet I could now.. just have to figure out what I did with it.
